I am not petite at 5’8 even though you might guess that I’m short by looking at my shoe collection. I frequently find adorable dresses or skirts that would be fantastic if they just added a few inches of fabric at the bottom. When a friend with an amazing petite body recently asked what she should buy on a shopping trip to Forever21, I went a little crazy choosing all the things I would be afraid to wear (as well as some things I would wear). Why must lengths vary between mini and midi….at least we will soon start wearing tights, giving some of us an excuse to raise our hemlines!

i recommend moving to toronto where it is so hot in summer, your too-tall-for-this shame quickly disappears… i never used to wear shorts or short skirts/dresses in edmonton, but desperation to be as close to naked as possible in the heat really opened up my wardrobe! put a pair of bikram yoga shorts on underneath and you’re good for kartwheeling and high-kicking too! (or, you know. bike commuting.)
